Coffee, I guess.
Aug. 5th, 2010 11:48 amI can't think of anything to write.
Blah, maybe I need my morning cup of coffee to jump start my brain.
I remember having a conversation about coffee, and the assumption by the other party was that caffeine was a bad substance to be putting into my body, and if my schedule didn't require it, then why didn't I get back off of it (I had mentioned to her being caffeine free for seven years after H was born - I managed to wean myself off of it without any withdrawal symptoms by accident - then deciding to go back on a year or so ago to help me deal with C's very erratic sleep schedule at the time).
The thing is, I also bought into the caffeine is bad line, and didn't think to even ask what the reasoning behind it was.
So here it is to anyone out there opposed to caffeine - why is it so bad.
At this point I rather enjoy my (properly doctored) morning cup of joe. I could see cutting down on the number of cups I have in the day, as the number of hours I sleep get to increase, but give me a good reason to stop all together.
Oh yeah, and I remember from a survivalists perspective - it is better to not be addicted to any substance when the world goes to hell, because then you will be in a stronger position - no withdrawals to have to go through, and without the need to use what may become very valuable trade goods as scarcity increases. But, I'm certain that was not the perspective that person was coming from - more of a healthy diet orientation, instead.
