Drawing

H has been drawing a lot lately. And I mean a lot. About a week ago she started using a drawing book my sister got her as a birthday present last year (last year after looking through it a few times, it mostly ended up on a shelf and forgotten). I guess something clicked and H was finally ready for the book. It's a how to draw fairy tales book, and she traced many pictures out of it, modifying a few at first, then more and more. The other day I complemented her on a face she had drawn and she told me she didn't trace it, but she had taken what she had learned from the book and applied it to that drawing.

I think she is getting much better at this drawing thing. She's developing her own style. I love how much movement she puts into her pictures. She made the following picture for me yesterday. She's the bird with the H above it's head, she said she got distracted and is running to catch up with Daddy (note the D) close behind.

That is a wonderful picture. There's a whole story in there, which is something some people never learn how to do.
