Mail Order Ducklings.

crazychicknladyNone of our local feed stores carry anything besides straight run ducklings, and pretty much only around Easter (can you say cuteness impulse buy?). So even if I could get them to include a group of four or five sexed females in their shipment, they would likely be the wrong kind of ducks (the larger white meat ducks, and we want layers).
Plus who wants to wait eight months to get new birds - no one around here has that much patience ;-) (well, maybe my hubby, but he just bought into the duck idea to support my craziness - gosh, it must be love :).
So on August 3rd, bright and early, I expect a call from my local Post Office (I really wish I knew which local Post Office was my local Post Office) about a box of ducklings waiting to be picked up (can't get live animals delivered to ones home address).

I got four females. One Blue Runner for H, one Fawn and White Runner for C, one Golden 300 Hybrid Layer for S, and one Khaki Campbell for Daddy (even though he said he didn't need a duck, he seemed very taken with this kind when he was doing his research, so I told him I'd raise it for him).
