Tooth Fairy.
Dec. 1st, 2011 11:52 pmC's Grandma recently made him a little tooth shaped pillow with a pocket for his baby teeth. He hasn't lost any yet, but since he's closing in on six, it seemed like a reasonable precaution on Grandma's part.
A few days ago C climbed up into my lap and told me very seriously that when he lost his first tooth he would put the tooth in the pillow and if the Tooth Fairy existed she would leave him a coin for his tooth.
I just said, "Okay."
I almost told him the Tooth Fairy didn't exist.
But he wasn't asking for my opinion.
So I kept my mouth shut.
None of his teeth are even loose yet. This is a discussion that may not even matter for another year. His beliefs may have changed radically by then. There was so much hope in him; I'm proud of myself for managing to hold my tongue.
First time for everything, I suppose.
