...when they invite me to be a participant.
It professes to be a Literary Con, too. Yeah, I've written a total of one filk, and co-written two filks, in the past 20 years. That is the sum total of my literary efforts since graduating college, unless you count the letter I wrote to my nasty neighbors back in January.
Technical knowledge? Not so much - I'm married to a physicist, I'm not one.
I could probably hold a panel on how to raise ducks and geese in a hot climate. Then again, I'm not sure how I'd fill the extra 49 minutes after using up the first one with, "Just add lots of water." Besides, not very science fictiony anyway.
They aren't alien or zombie ducks, after all.
I begged off with being too busy. Seeing as I still have one kid who qualifies as kid in tow, and a whole heap of animals at home to take care of, it's not a fake excuse. The Con is too damn far away to make a round trip in one day and still have the energy to do anything, so I'm only making it out one day and night anyway. Plus we just figured out it's a four day Con.
Kids, driving, animals, extreme heat, arg! No participation for me. Thanks all the same.
