Sometimes it isn't all Shiny
Feb. 11th, 2009 03:55 amSomeone complained on an unschooling list that unschoolers' blogs are too cheerful with rosy stories about how things are going well with their families. She wanted to see problems mentioned on blogs so she could read about conflict resolution and also feel better that sometimes things just don't go right.
My first thought in response to seeing her complaint, was: well of course unschoolers blog about the good stuff. We don't want to air our dirty laundry to the world. We want to celebrate the successes.
Now, while looking at yesterday's post, I've realized that I'd put in a story that wasn't all rosy and cheerful and full of successes. I guess I'm more well rounded in my livejournal postings than I originally thought.
