Zoombinis

I have noticed over the past few years on the unschooling yahoo group AlwaysLearning that whenever someone mentioned the computer game Zoombinis, there always soon followed a chorus of, "My kids loved that game."

Recently an updated version of the game was released, claiming to run on Windows/2000/XP and Macintosh. Be warned, only our eight year old computer was slow enough to run this updated version.

I was able to get the game through ebay for $5.50 (shipping included).

So far my kids are loving it. H and S work together to solve the puzzles (with a little help from me) while C watches and cheers them on (worried and relieved in turn).

At one point a group of zoombinis moved across the monitor screen from one puzzle to the next.

As H, S, and C watched the zoombinis cross the bottom of the monitor screen, H and S counted one to twelve, echoed after each number by C. When they were done C said in his cute little voice, "Thank you for helping me counting."
