One of the Perks of Summer Vacation
Jun. 3rd, 2009 10:31 pmThere is a local pool near where we live. It is attached to the High School, so is only open during summer vacation.
Mind you, we're unschoolers. We don't do summer break, because you can't really stop learning on command. Besides, who'd want to.
I can just see it, telling the kids, "you must stop having fun for the next three months, because it is summer break, and fun leads to learning, and you need a break from learning. Now go sit in your dark room, and don't bother me."
Anyway, my point was that we get to go swimming for $4.50 (for four of us), any afternoon we want during the week. They have two water slides, a zero entry pool, and water features that spray water. Its tiring, but fun.
Tomorrow will be the third day this week.
