My ten year old discovered last week that sarcasm is lost on her four year old brother.
We were at the park and they were spinning on the merry-go-round, C was calling out "Faster! Faster!" to try to get me to push them and get the merry-go-round spinning faster. Unfortunately it is a very small merry-go-round and H's ears were very close to C's mouth at that moment.
H asked, "Can you be any louder?"
To which her brother very cheerfully yelled, "Yes!"
Realizing her error, H then asked, "Can you be any quieter?"
And C whispered, "Yes."
