Adventure.
Sep. 30th, 2011 03:13 pmThe other day I bought one of those controllers with the old Atari games self contained. Old ones like Adventure and Breakout. Playing the Adventure game led me to wax nostalgic about how my brother created an Adventure game for us in the backyard when we were kids - making colored keys and doors, he would play the part of the bat and the dragon while the rest of us tried to find the trophy.
S decided I sounded like I really missed that game - and it is one of my favorite of the many games my brother created for us - so she secretly made her own set of color coded keys and a trophy so we could recreate the game outside.
Aww, I'm getting weepy thinking about how sweet she was being to put that much effort into giving me such a present.
Well, with a little help we pulled together the rest of the pieces (today we even added a bridge), and with S playing the dragon and bat, it is a big hit - I'm even having lots of fun as we traipse through the maze (mowed out of grass) trying to reach our goal.
