Last day of LepreCon. Everyone is running low on sleep (as is to be expected). The kids got a small egg hunt this morning, and will be coming home to Easter Baskets later. The kids programing was hit and miss this time around. Some fun concepts that were poorly implemented, and some programing confusion. The kids all had fun with the pirate adventure, even though it was disappointing that they didn't have little pirate pouches for everyone like they did last year.
There was a panel on drawing and ellipses that H particularly enjoyed. There may be a drawing panel later with the local artists that could pan out.
We danced at the Toga party, but I got the impression that for a Toga party (I'd never been to one before last night) it was fairly dead. There were only two room parties to snag food from, but one did have snow cones.
Filking ended disappointingly early. Lots of people bailed around 11:30, but then it looked like we might be able to revive it when the hotel staff insisted we didn't have rights to the room anymore (they were wrong, but we'd already broken up the filk by the time we figured that out). This turned out to be yet another case of miscommunication between the hotel and convention. We almost missed out on Regency Dancing Friday (luckily it went forward, H and I had a great time, and Marti and Alice were very impressed with H's dancing instincts) due to programing issues as well.
Lots of art was bid on, and all of it should end up following us home. Each kid will have used their own money to buy some, and I'm buying several pieces as well.
The highlight of the con may be that I accidentally stumbled into a chance to barter my duck, chicken and goose eggs for some costume jewelry for the kids.
It floors me that I'm able to make this post from the laptop in the hotel room before the Con is even over (I know, everyone else would just post from their Smart-Phone, I am so 5 years out of date).
Time to pack up and check out of our hotel room now. Happy Easter.
