I had one of those really productive Mother/Son times earlier today.

I needed to wash a basketful of eggs (I've needed to wash that basketful for the last week and managed to keep putting it off, so more putting off would have been inadvisable), and C wanted to do something with me.

Also, the kids have been bugging me to make cookies of late.

So I set up C to make his own batch of chocolate chip cookies with me supervising while I washed my eggs.

He was so proud of himself doing all the measuring, egg cracking, and mixing himself - all I did was get out the ingredients, he did the rest. He ran out of steam half way through mixing in the flour. That worked out fine, since I was done with my eggs by then and could finish up.

Two tasks taken care of in the time of one. Time spent with my son. Yummy cookies for everyone so enjoy. A boatload of clean eggs - seriously, anyone local wanting eggs just show up with your own egg containers - the chickens have started laying again and the ducks never stopped.

Good time spent, I'd say.
