CopperCon.
Sep. 4th, 2012 12:05 pmFriday - Swimming. Regency Dancing. Some filking.
Saturday - Art panel involving hats, t-shirts, bags, and fabric paint. Dr Who Dramatic reading practice. Exercise Room. Swimming. Dr Who Dramatic reading - I was Rose Tyler-Smith, M was John Smith the metacrisis Doctor (the girls attended the reading, C was entertained for 2.5 hours by Grandma Ann - later I heard C cheerfully explain to someone that she was not his real Grandma, but he called her Grandma Ann because she wanted him too).
Sunday - Beginning of a tweaked neck. Swimming. My Little Pony ear making panel. Exercise Room. My Little Pony, decorate your own pony, panel. I packed up and headed home with C.
Monday - Still nursing a tweaked neck and coming down with a cold. H went to a deconstructing appliances panel - she took things apart with a screwdriver, but was told by the woman in charge of the panel that for liability reasons H could not use the knife. M and the girls were home by 2pm.
At the Con, C was very firm that any project he was working on (painted hat and pony ears, mostly), he was doing completely by himself - they were to be do it himself projects.
This is probably the last Con C will be kid in tow. As it was, I got a lot more time to participate in panels and just hang out and socialize than I probably have at any other convention in the past 11 years.
I'm gleefully looking forward to when C is free to roam the Con with his sisters. I'll be able to approach Conventions from a whole new perspective.
