Yesterday the girls helped set up for the 4-H dog show our club was hosting today.

Today the girls and I got to the dog show just in time for the girls to sit around for two hours with nothing to do. They did eventually get to help with Rally and Agility (mostly recording times). They also helped clean up after the show, so the girls were happy to get to help.

We donated some banana bread to be sold during the show. It didn't sell well, so we got to take two pieces back home with us. Ah well, it was a small show, and we were just glad to have been able to try to help raise money for the group. Besides, we like our banana bread, so it was nice to get to eat some after our long day.

This is the last dog show we are attending this year, because we are not going to County Finals. Honor is probably done with 4-H dog forever, but Sage may try again with Pete in a couple of years (once she is bigger and stronger).

A couple of weeks ago I stuck two goose eggs into a nesting box in the hen house in case one or two of our hens went broody like last year. C's Goldie Feather did not disappoint. The first two goose eggs, however, did not look to be developing when I candled them the other day. After waiting for Speedy (the female goose) to lay two more eggs, I double checked the eggs in the nesting box and switched them out with the fresher ones.

This is the beginning of the count up to day 27 - when I can expect the geese to be nearly ready to hatch. Of course, hatching can take a couple of days, and these two - if they even make it that far - will probably need help getting out.
