Another Gosling.
Jun. 25th, 2018 09:18 amI got back from the Convention yesterday, and discovered a newly hatched gosling. It was covered with eggshell bits, but it's legs were free, and most importantly, it was still alive. Since the last three goslings I found in the goose nest were already dead, I scooped this one up and set it up in a warm box in the house. C decided to name it Mocha. Thanks to my husband, the older gosling is being called Peanut. And thanks to my inability to leave well enough alone, I now have a toddler and newborn to juggle.

Next year I'm collecting all the goose eggs.
ETA: Mocha is way more mobile after just a day, than Peanut was. It can move around it's box to help self regulate it's temperature, and it has no problem finding and drinking from it's water. I'm thinking Peanut was not quite right when she was hatched.
