Kids doing stuff.

C made a fire in our firepit. He and M roasted some marshmallows together, then C attempted to make himself some "bread" by mixing flour, water, and salt, then cooking it over the fire. He said it didn't taste too bad after you got past the burnt bits and the parts that fell into the fire.

At first, the girls were too busy, working on their Halloween costumes, to join in the fire fun (though H got in a few roasted marshmallows while waiting for her Dad to fix the sewing machine).

Earlier M had helped S set up the sewing machine, but it turned out she needed to hand sew her costume bits. He saved H a lot of time, though, since, after a short tutorial, she was able to use it with some of her costume.

It's fun to see how much they can do on their own these days.
