Giving Blood.
Aug. 25th, 2022 11:05 amGave blood today. The blood vampires have been after me for a while, since I have that sweet, sweet, O+ blood running through my veins.
I had taken a big break from donating for two main reasons. One, the last time I gave I ended up with a wallop of a two day migraine. The second were the mask protocols that popped up everywhere.
I'd been dutifully dodging their calls and ignoring their texts and emails for a good two years, till I slipped up and answered my phone two weeks ago. Turns out, the mask requirement was dropped sometime in March.
I was trying to get an appointment at a local library near me, but, because of scheduling issues, I ended up at a highschool a few miles further away. I'd never given at a high school before. My take away: way more chaotic, they ran way behind, but they had way better snacks and I felt no compunction about taking multiple drinks and snacks from the offering.
With how busy it was, and how behind they were running, and how overwhelmed I felt, I was ready to conclude that I would never go to a high school again to donate blood. The snacks, however, may sway my opinion the other way.
