Medal of Honor Recipient PFC Desmond Doss.

Thanks to the magic of Netflix, Hubby, Son, and I got to watch the movie Hacksaw Ridge, honoring some of the exploits of Medal of Honor recipient, Pfc Desmond Thomas Doss.

Pretty good movie, but as my son said, "they did him dirty". For movie timing they had to compact his heroics into two days, underselling his accomplishments (though, what they did include was insane). Also, the movie left out how, after being wounded, PFC Doss, sent the stretcher bearers after someone more severely wounded, and "Awaiting the litter bearers' return, he was again struck, this time suffering a compound fracture of one arm. With magnificent fortitude he bound a rifle stock to his shattered arm as a splint and then crawled 300 yards over rough terrain to the aid station."
