Gratitude Day 5

crazychicknlady1. That I have never felt a compulsion or a need to take First day of School Pictures. Seriously, after considering how much more stressed and complicated that would make a day where you already have to get your kids up early, get them fed and neatly dressed, locate their shoes, make sure they have their packed lunch and backpack of school supplies/books, and get them out the door on a deadline, it makes avoiding that ritual move to the top of my why I love homeschooling list.
2. That I grew up in an era before stranger danger, helicopter parenting, and the 24 hour news cycle undermined parents faith in the world and strangled out natural childhood freedoms.
3. What really lives at the top of my "why I love homeschooling list" is getting to spend so much time with my incredible kids who surprise, entertain, and amaze me on a daily basis.
4. Funny memes my eldest finds to show me - and that she wants to show them to me in the first place.
5. Half price donuts after 7pm.
