Tree Trimming
Dec. 16th, 2008 09:41 pmM ventured out into the rain and cold yesterday evening, with H and C, to get us a tree. S, being sick, stayed home with me to tidy up the space where the tree would go (and drink some hot chocolate). The tree was damp when they got it home, even though M managed to fit it inside my truck for the ride back from Home Depot.
We decorated the tree with lots of old ornaments from M's and my childhoods, and lots of ornaments the children have received for past Christmases.

We don't have a proper star for the top of our tree.

We've talked about maybe buying a new star someday. I guess I'm not in that much of a hurry to buy one, since when I was a kid the top of our tree always sported a cardboard star covered in aluminum foil made by my Brother. I always thought that was a great star and that my Brother was special for having the honor of making the star and placing it on the tree.
