I accidentally started talking politics with my mother.
Oops.
She watches too much news and is getting more and more freaked out by the coronavirus. She doesn't want us to visit until it's over. When I pointed out that it was likely to become a yearly virus, like the flu, she decided we should at least wait till there is a vaccine.
Sigh.
Finding this article after our phone call seemed timely.
The money quote:
"If safety requires us to indefinitely forfeit the most valuable parts of our lives, what exactly are we trying to save?"
