Educational or just Yucky?
Sep. 23rd, 2009 10:04 pmSo about a week and a half ago M walked up to me and asked, "Is showing the girls what a bird eats educational or just yucky?"
I stared at him dumbly for a minute (not sure what the heck he was talking about), then it dawned on me: he meant the seeds inside the doves he had shot earlier that day.
Me, "Umm, H would probably think it is yucky, S would think it's neat."
Right on the money.
M proceeded to show the girls (and eventually C joined in) how to take the feathers off the birds, and then clean out the yucky bits. He collected an interesting array of seeds.

Neither of the girls wanted to touch the dead birds, but for some reason pulling off some of the feathers while Daddy held the dead birds didn't count as touching.
The general conclusion was that the whole thing was educational and yucky. But S definitely thought it was really really neat.
