Happy New Year!

Just to tweak with any of my readers living in a much colder climate than I am (admittedly, that may be only one friend, who claims to read my livejournal on occasion).



This was a picture taken by S to show H the butterfly she missed seeing while she was out somewhere with me. Luckily, after we got home, and with a little patience, H got to see a butterfly of her own.

We had a night in the high teens a couple of weeks ago. Of course, our heater chose that night to die. And then my oven and stove broke. It's been a fun month around here.

I wasn't poking at you :). I have a friend living where it actually snows in the winter. I figure you probably still have butterflies near you this time of year (as do most of the people that I know read my journal). Nice to hear from you again, though; I miss reading your journal. Sorry things keep breaking on you.

I get your livejournal popping up in my Unschooling Google alert and pop in to see what's new. It's pretty cold here with everything frozen over today and snow expected on Tuesday, so I probably qualify! LOL

OMG - butterflies in December - sounds more like where I grew up - South Africa, than where I live now - UK

Neat, more readers (and comments) than I was expecting :). I should poke at my friend (whom I'm fairly sure hasn't actually noticed this entry, yet ;-) more often.

In all fairness, I must point out that the picture was taken in November (also, hubby told me this morning that while S took several pictures for H that day, the picture in this entry was actually taken by him). Admittedly, if I wanted pictures of butterflies taken today I could get them with enough time and patience of my own.
