Neighbors, fruit trees, and a goose.
Mar. 10th, 2010 02:23 pmOur new neighbor with all the birds stopped by yesterday and offered to give the kids a baby goose. Best part, M didn't object - so once we're ready for it we're going to have a goose :). I've always wanted a goose, but they are loud, so it's never been a possibility before now. M figures the neighbor's birds are going to be so loud, that one little goose on our property wont make much of a difference.
Last night before heading back to our old house (where we still sleep and have most of our stuff), C noticed one of our new trees (we have five or six waiting in pots till the grading is done so they can end up in the ground). He told Daddy he wanted it to be his tree because it was beautiful (it's a little late to be planting bare root trees, several have already started growing flowers). The problem was it was the plum tree M had bought for S (she specifically requested a plum tree).
As M led C around the house to show him a different tree, and I tried to argue that all the trees would become beautiful as they grew, C protested that the plum would become beautifuller because it had a head start.
Luckily the tree M showed C had big dark pink flowers already open on it, so C determined it was beautifuller too, so he wanted it to be his. It wasn't yet claimed, so one of the peach trees now belongs to C.
