I really need to get some recent photos of the goslings and post some before and after shots. At a little over two weeks old the babies are huge (unfortunately for the water fowl enthusiasts in my readership, I'm feeling way too lazy to pull that off tonight).

The goslings are so neat. They follow us around; I take them for walks with me while I putter around the yard. They demand so much outside time lately that for the past two days I've left them in the chickens' yard for a few hours at a time. After anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes (the time is getting shorter the more often I leave them) they stop pacing the fence, cheeping desperately for us and settle in. I put in a small pool for them so they have plenty of water.

Hopefully Gus will be delivered Monday. We'll be busy getting things ready for him this weekend. I'm trying to baby my back this week (after an epic fail that nearly threw my back out again Sunday night - I tried to help M move a tree we needed to plant - bad move) so I will be able to work on Gus's manners around lifting his feet. He desperately needs to see a farrier and I want to increase the chances that he will be a good boy for the one I find.

H went on a trail ride today with her Girl Scout troop. She is not in a hurry to do that sort of thing again. She said she didn't like that the horse wouldn't listen to her (mostly just followed the horse in front of him - standard trail horse behavior really). She did get Dan to trot once and she thought that was fun. She is really looking forward to having a horse at home that she can ride and trot on her own.

We've been watching a lot of Pokemon lately - it's become C's favorite show (H and S are very fond of it too) so I bought several new Pokemon DVDs, as well as sixth season Inu Yasha, and I've pre-ordered the first chapter of Avatar: The Last Airbender since H and S got introduced to it at the filk and wanted us to have our own copy.
