So I finally made a Facebook account a few days ago.
Since then I have managed to friend some family - and thus interact with them more than I have in a while - which was pretty cool.
Even better, I found and friended an old friend from high-school I had lost track of way back when I was in college (you see, I was an abysmal letter writer, because I would lose steam before I felt the letter was long enough, then lose track of it, and forget to send it).
Speaking of college, it belatedly occurred to me to look up a few friends from college - fortunately they have fairly unique names, so I didn't end up with a list of 500 matches - the friend requests have been sent.
This is such a strange experience, and while I still feel a little overwhelmed it seems like it may end up being a very good thing after all.
