And according to S it was the second best day ever in a row (yesterday we went swimming, horseback riding and S and H played Toontown together a bunch while C watched).

M is working a new job, and it kind of sucks - especially the commute - but he is working his 80 hours for two weeks in 9 days, so he gets every other Friday off.

Today, on his first Friday off, we had a friend meet us at our house with his daughter. The girls showed off the new chicks to her (I just realized I haven't livejournaled about the new chicks yet - we got 6 new ones a few days ago - pictures soon, I promise), and I saddled up Ezra long enough to give the three of them each a ride. It was the friend's daughter's first time holding a chick and first time ever on a horse. She was a brave little thing, when I asked if she wanted to go faster than a walk she gave me a big grin and said she wanted to run - so we trotted some.

Then we all went to the natural history museum where they had a new dino dig exhibit and an entire room devoted to hands on displays involving light. My girls were looking at some rocks that glow in low light and both exclaimed how much they love science.

A big hit, as always, was the gift shop; everyone made sure to pick up some souvenirs (no tax and 10% off for being members - woohoo!).

A break for lunch included a game of dino tag (H was a T-rex when she was it), and C decided that what we should all do again as soon as possible is have another picnic lunch and play more tag.

We spent a little more time at the museum till they had to practically kick us out the door at closing time.

They don't glow in low light, they fluoresce under ultraviolet light. There was a so-called black light in the case.
