C - What job should I have when I'm a grownup?

Me - Well, figure out something you enjoy and see if you can get someone to pay you for doing it.

C - What is the word for the one where you fight people?

Me - A soldier?

C - Yeah! Will someone pay me money to be a soldier?

Me - Yes...

C - All right. I want to be a soldier when I'm a grownup.

Me - Okay.

C - I don't have to get married if I'm a soldier, do I?

Me - No. But you don't have to get married if you don't want to no matter what job you have.

C - But I don't have to be married if I'm a soldier?

Me - No.

C - Good.

C - I'll be able to have a key when I'm a grown up.

Me - Yeah, for a house or car, maybe.

C - No, for something big that shoots down.

Me - An airplane?

C - No. Big on the ground.

Me - A tank?

C - Yes! When I'm a grown up, I'll be a soldier and drive a tank.

If C still wants to do that when he's older, Adam's cousin is a Lt. Colonel. He was a tank commander for many years. Maybe they could talk...

We have a friend who was a tank commander in Bosnia for a few years.

But...

H planned on having 10 kids when she was five (down to 2 or 3 now), so I really don't know how long C will really hold on to this idea.

I think boys are different. Buckaroo is still holding on to the concept of being single.
