Today turned out to be one of those days where we were so busy I've hardly had a chance to blog about it.
First (and this is after all the normal watering animals and cleaning the duck area and giving the ducks a chance to swim - BTW they are 4 weeks old today!) M and I had to drive into town to sign some papers.
Then we went to Trader Joe's. I really needed peanut butter, and it was only a couple of miles from where we had to sign papers.
Then I went by the old house with the kids (after getting gas).
We got some pizza on our way home so we could scarf some down before the 4-H informational meeting.
I had to drag the kids away from their new sand pile to get cleaned up for the meeting (and when rinsing off, C took the hose and held it over his head, completely drenching himself - when I said rinse off, I really only meant hand and feet, really).
The meeting was sensory overload, but the people were very friendly, so we settled in and asked as many questions as I could remember - which were probably fewer than optimal due to the previously mentioned sensory issues - and we got fairly well squared away.
M spent a lot of time out on the playground (this was at an elementary school and the gate to the playground was open) while I navigated the booths and gathered the information we needed.
C is now officially a Clover Bud (he's very excited to be part of a club with it's own special name). The girls both decided to sign up for shooting sports - which will be archery only, at least until the leader involved gets certified in shotgun in November) and photography/arts and crafts/scrap booking, which all get crammed into the same group, and also happen to have the same leader as the shooting sports.
After getting done signing everyone up, the kiddos and I stayed for some extra time at the playground - it was a pretty sweet set up. We even played a couple of games of duck, duck, dragon.
After getting home, the kiddos headed back out to their sand mountain, the ducklings went out for another swim, and I got twenty minutes to myself to write all of this up.
