New routine with the ducklings.
Sep. 4th, 2011 11:42 amThis morning I let the ducklings out when I went outside to let the horse into the main yard to graze. For the past month or so I've been letting the geese out at that time, too, but instead I gave them extra food and left them in the damn geese/chicken/horse yard.
Then I went back to bed.
The ducklings are currently curled up under the plastic picnic table we have for the kids (it's right next to the kiddie pool).
Earlier they were is the pool.
Later, once I clean the ducklings cage/area I plan to let them back in and let the geese loose. We're headed to the natural history museum later, and won't be able to provide proper supervision/interference for the ducklings so I want them safely inside. Speedy (the female goose) attacked one of the ducklings last night while we had them with us in the damn geese/chicken/horse yard, so I don't feel comfortable leaving all the water fowl alone together right now.
I'm hoping to let the ducklings out every morning, and give the geese their grazing time once the humans are awake.
