Yesterday.
Sep. 27th, 2011 02:43 amI showed H and S some YouTube videos of school - real classrooms, with real teachers, and real students, and they were videos obviously intended to be good examples of teaching the styles and lessons being demonstrated. S's conclusion, "School is boring!"
We talked a little bit about Einstein and Physics.
While looking for a Beatrix Potter book on one of our overstuffed bookshelves, I found our copy of Catwings, by Ursula K. Le Guin. I read it with H while C and S built tracks for some marbles.
Then C and I played a game of marbles on the tiles. We tied - we each knocked 3 fives of marbles out of the square.
H played a quest game for a while on the computer - it involved reading a lot of text as she searched for the quests that would eventually lead her to the solution to the quest to find milk. Yes milk. It's a free flash game, so what can I say? H thinks the milk quest may be the final one to win the game.
S told me that when adding 7+5 she just adds to 10 then adds 2 more. Cool.
All three kids took turns making the taco shells for dinner (this involved hot oil).
C and S played together with legos in C's room for a while.
H, S and I watched Dancing With The Stars while C alternated between watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and playing an Indiana Jones game on facebook.
