Animal Company While Carving Pumpkins.
Nov. 15th, 2011 12:46 pmDue to time pressures, sick kids, and general busyness we ended up taking two days to carve our three pumpkins.

I really enjoyed the process this year, possibly because the girls did most of the work on their pumpkins, and I wasn't feeling rushed. The best part, though, were the observers. We had set up very near a fence bordering on an area in the back yard that the ducks and geese could reach.

Feather Head, the Fawn and White Runner Duck.

Wobbles, the male goose.
On both days they hung out near us, and it wasn't just for the occasional pumpkin seeds we threw them. They wanted to be near the rest of their flock (us) - silly little social birds that they are.

Speedy, the female goose, with the ducks in the background.

Wing Flap, the Golden 300 Hybrid Layer.
Oh, and it wasn't just birds that came to see what all the fuss was about.

Frankie.
