Dying or Brooding?

crazychicknladyC's Buff Orpington, Goldie Feather may be on her last legs. She has been looking more and more ragged over the past year and over the past week or so she has been acting weird. She spends a lot of time in the nesting box, even sleeping in it rather that making it up to the roost.
I thought she was too weak to move out of the house; now I think she was just waiting till the other hen was done laying so she could move back into the nesting box.
At first I figured she was too weak to move much, and was going to be our next chicken to die. But when she is one the ground she is still able to move fairly quickly.
So, now I'm beginning to wonder if she has just turned super broody. That for some reason her instincts to sit eggs have kicked into overdrive. Maybe she is going to die and this is some last ditch effort to help a new generation hatch before the end. Too bad for her we have no roosters.
On a lark, today I stole a goose egg from Speedy and stuck it in the chicken nesting box under Goldie Feather. Who knows. She seems more likely to hatch it than the goose is.
