Yesterday M pulled out character sheets and our many copies of the players handbook for 2nd Edition D&D. C became a human mage with a dragonet familiar (he wanted to be a dragon, but this was the best compromise they could reach). H became a half-elf cleric. S became an elven ranger (she had just finished designing and sewing herself a green hooded cloak, so M sort of dubbed her elf girl). I broke with my normal path - small thief into stabbing and sniping - and made a paladin.
I am so not sure how to play this paladin, but M made it a little easier by making C my little brother. This way I can keep C focused on the game while Quinn the Righteous tries to keep Volcano Scar (though Quinn will often call him by his birth name - Fred) from straying onto the wrong path.
H thought it was super fun, except the part where her character almost bled to death. S thought it was fun, but confusing. C thought it was fun, but the pool and splash pad earlier were his favorite part of the day.
The general consensus? We need to head off to the gaming store today to buy new dice.
