New puffballs

We were only averaging three eggs every two days (fewer when Lantana took a month off from laying to molt), so we picked up two new chicks a few weeks ago. I've got them set up inside a cage inside the chicken house. The hens are ignoring them nicely. Here are some photos from the day we brought them home.

First Haircut

Well, I finally cut my baby boy's hair for the first time a few weeks ago. I got tired of all the "what a cute little girl" comments. C did very well. He sat on the chair in the front yard and held very still for me while I chopped. Here's some of what I cut off. He was nearly 21 months at the time.

Earrings

H got her ears pierced on October 13th. She managed to stay very calm. She quietly told the nice girl who was helping us, "It hurts a lot," after they punched the studs through.

A neat thing is that they had the option of titanium studs. Since I am allergic to just about everything *besides* titanium, I thought that would be a great way for H to start out.

Of the three choices of titanium designs, H chose the little round balls.

Titanium earrings

Speaking of titanium earrings in the post about H reminded me of my new favorite earring website (not that I actually *had* a favorite before this one).

He custom makes titanium earrings, and also makes ear hooks for dangle earrings - now I can shop for earrings at cons and just switch out the hooks for his titanium ones.
