Sweet games
Nov. 2nd, 2007 01:15 amC (21 mos) keeps doing cute things and I keep thinking I should write them down so I can remember them when he is older. So here goes:
Baseball: I got a plastic baseball T-ball set for C to play with. Now he'll find a ball (all the while saying "ball, ball") and put it on the T. Then he'll grab the bat and bend his legs in his hit the ball stance (he'll also use the same stance when he tries to pitch). Once he swings and hits the ball, he'll drop the bat and run around in circles on the grass. Sometimes he'll make as many as 7 or 8 little circles before putting a ball back on the T and swinging again. If the ball goes in the dirt he likes to point at it and tell me to go get it (not with words - he doesn't talk much - but he makes himself understood, and is very insistent). Sometimes he hands me the bat so I can have a turn.
This evening he developed a cute "hug me" game. He would move to a spot on the grass, pat it and tell me "down". I would then squat down on the indicated spot and he would hug me. Then he would move to another spot about a foot away, pat the grass and say "down" again. I would move, squat down and he would give me another hug. He repeated this game for 8 or 9 different spots.
