I woke everyone up early ('bout 9:30am - that's early for us ;-) to get S to her gymnastics class.
H ans C drew with crayons while S was in her class.
About 11am we walked across the road to the little park nearby. We played at the playground, taking small breaks to eat from the lunch I brought, till about 1pm. This included a Dr. Who game (the merry-go-round as the TARDIS), and a performing dog band - the "Bingo Dogs".
Then the girls wanted to look at a water overflow area next to the park - as it rained a few days ago we were rewarded with a small pond/puddle (about 10ft by 15ft). All three children proceeded to "make it look like rain" by throwing handfuls of small landscaping rock into the pond.
After much time passed, we headed towards the library to see if they had fixed the kids' section yet (big remodel going on). Between the pond and the library we discovered a stream - again thanks to the rain, and mountain snow, from a few days ago. I only got them away from the stream long enough to confirm that the remodel was indeed not finished.
Then followed damn building. H and S worked very diligently at damning the stream while C proceeded to try to jump across it (some parts were only 6 inches across). After letting me help a few times he insisted on doing it himself. This quickly ended up with him walking up and down the stream, getting his sleeper feet soaked - good thing it was nice and sunny by then. :)
After H built a couple damns, she then made an area to dig up "goop mud" to help S block the water leaking through her damn.
Damn building was followed by more "rain", by throwing rocks in the pond again.
I only belatedly realized we could try sailing leaves on the stream, so we went back to the stream to have a go - too shallow in most parts, but it was kind of fun.
By then I was too hungry and tired to keep playing, so we found a bathroom to get cleaned up and came home.
C is now happily asleep, and H and S are watching Cyberchase (on at 3:30pm at our house).
