"Me love you too, Mommy."

These are the words that start a sweet exchange between my 2.5 year old and myself. I'm expected to respond with "I love you too, C."
We can go back and forth more than ten times before the game ends. Sometimes even hugs are exchanged :).

Kids and Money

Today H and I walked to a yard sale down the street. On the way back we saw a neighborhood girl the kids play with every once in a while. H was showing the girl what she bought and commented that she used her own money to buy it. The girl responded in a perplexed tone, "you have your own money?".

Huh.

This girl turns 9 really soon.

My girls have been navigating the complexities of buying things with their own money since they were three or four, and C has been buying things for himself for several months now.

Ah well, to each his own.
