Zoo Lights
Nov. 30th, 2008 09:49 pmLast night we went to Zoo Lights with Grandma. It was very crowded and noisy. The main circuit wasn't as impressive as the adds had led me to believe; maybe with fewer people it would have been easier to enjoy.
We did get to see a couple of elephants in the new elephant enclosure. I suppose it's important to see at least one animal when we go to the Zoo ;-). We actually saw two more animals when we caught the end of a meet the animals show: an Iguana and an Australian Tawny Frogmouth.

These Tawny Frogmouths are masters of camouflage.
(There are three in this photo lifted from someones blog,
I forgot to bring my camera to the Zoo.)
C was getting bored with the whole thing, but H and S really enjoyed the show and H asked the nice girl lots of questions at the end.
Grandma bought us popcorn, and the kids got a carousel ride.
The best part for me, and possibly a reason to go back again, was a side trail we noticed on our way out. It was much less crowded, the music was quieter, and the lights surrounded us more. The trees were lower and some stretched over the path. They had some parts with giant animals as if we had shrunk down to enter that lighted world. It was lovely.
