New Interests

The girls have been watching the original Yu-gi-oh lately (thanks to their Grandpa recording Saturday morning cartoons for them), and a few days ago H asked if we could go to a store and buy some Yu-gi-oh cards so she and S could play duel monsters with each other.

Tonight we made it out to Toys R Them and found some cards (a lot cheaper than I was expecting - I guess because the original Yu-gi-oh card game is not the latest, hottest, dueling game out there right now ;-). The girls played a modified version of the game, (I haven't looked up the proper rules yet, but it looks like they may be more complicated than the girls would want to deal with right now) and it wasn't as much fun as H was hoping - then again she lost, so I don't know if she would have thought the game was better if she had won. With some tweaking of our house rules, I think the girls will have fun with it.

C got to have some fun tonight as well - he got a remote control car while we were at Toys R Them, as a belated birthday present from my parents.
