I think I need one of these posts today.
Yesterday I felt so blah and tired (I'd gotten up early to get ready for the farrier and he flaked on me). I didn't feel like making dinner - then I focused on my dear husband - I know he never feels like getting up bloody early in the morning to go to work, but does it anyway. So I unloaded the dishwasher, mostly filled it, washed a sink full of dishes, and later made dinner. Enough of the whiny, wimpy, waahhh, poor is me crap - I am blessed.
1)Husband who supports us financially so I can be home with our kids and unschool them and putter around with all my many pets (most of which he could happily do without).
2)Three healthy, energetic (this one is hard to remember as a blessing, especially with regards to my son, but he has such joy when he can use that energy up with my help - like running around in circles on the driveway while I stand guard for bad guys), creative, loving children.
3)Our porch swing - C and I swung on it together yesterday while taking a break from him running in circles - it was very sweet and we chatted.
4)All the many resources available on the internet - Google lets me look up definitions and pictures of just about anything the kids ask me about (or that I think they might like - like a youtube video of the Smothers Brothers singing the Yoyo man song after showing S some of the few yo-yo tricks I know how to do), forums about horses and groups about unschooling, games for the kids to play, Facebook giving me a new way to connect to family and friends (and new games to play), on Hulu M has found old TV shows for H and him to watch together, etc.
5)The back brace my parents sent me keeping my bad back at bay so I can accomplish all I want to throughout the day (and my heat pad helps, too).
