Surprise, kitty style.

A little while ago I went out to look for S's Pikachu in the car. Last night was way too cold to look for it when, right before going to bed, she realized he was missing. C's Mudkip filled in as a sleeping buddy, but after opening up the car today, I'm wishing I'd braved the cold after all.

"Meow" was the first thing I heard as I opened up the driver's side door.

Oh crap.

Miss Frankie cat was in my car (presumably since about 9pm last night when we got home). She'd obviously gotten in after the kids left the doors open, and I didn't notice her when I shut up the car after unloading the groceries.

Oops.

It could have been worse. She chose a machine washable sleeping bag as her toilet - much preferable to say a seat or the floor where the smell would have been with us for a loooong time.

Unfortunately, Pikachu was not in the car, so S will be very unhappy until I find him.

On with the search!

ETA: I later found Pikachu safe and sound hiding under the futon in the living room.

Today We...

... made muffins (C and H made one batch with me, then H made a second batch all on her own).

... had birthday celebrations for two of C's beanie babies. Crawlie the Koala turned 3 and Power Pup the puppy turned 5 (each got a muffin with the appropriate number of lit candles and blew out the candles after all their beanie baby and human friends surrounded them and sang Happy Birthday).

... assembled and flew our new kites.

... discovered that the horse will try to walk into the shed if he thinks you have carrots.
