Christmas Eve.
Dec. 24th, 2011 09:24 pmBest. Christmas Eve. Ever.
The girls got up early to watch Saturday Morning Cartoons. H let the ducks out for me and filled one of their pools.
M took a box of oranges and a Christmas card to our old neighbor, then got a haircut.
I cleared off the kitchen table and S and C washed it down for me.
I made a big batch of orange juice, then later we walked to Farmer's to feed Gooey (the largest cow), and the other animals, the large collection of orange rinds. M came along and brought Pete. While H and C stayed with me to feed the animals, S (after feeding one of the littlest goats) and M took the dog on a longer walk to picked some grapefruit from our neighbor.
S tested out her new right handed bow (the arrows flew wobbly so M and I think he may need to adjust the tension). H practiced with her bow some too.
The girls checked the mail and discovered we had three packages. One was a present for me from my MIL; I couldn't help breaking into song when I saw it.

We had a nice sit down Christmas Eve dinner at the newly cleared table (Beef Stroganoff and salad).
Then we each got to choose one present to open.

S opened a small stuffed animal moose from C. H opened a pencil organizer from S. C opened a truck from H. M opened a T-Shirt (Lego Darth Vader) from me. I opened a movie (Atlas Shrugged, Part 1) from M.
M broke out my Ovation 12 string guitar and we played and sang Christmas songs.
We watched some Christmas specials on TV.
Then H put on a little ballet show for the rest of us. With popcorn.
