You never know what they know.

M just finished reading C, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

M asked C several times as they progressed through the book, "Do you know this story?", since C kept saying what the caterpillar was going to do on each page before M had a chance to read it. C kept answering, "No."

Finally, as M was about to turn to the last page and say what the caterpillar turned into, C interrupted with, "A butterfly!"

M hadn't turned the page yet to show the picture of the butterfly, so he looked at C and asked one more time, "Are you sure you don't know this story?"

C responded, "No, but I know this cycle."

Solar Eclipse.

Thanks to my hubby, we were all able to get a look at the partial solar eclipse earlier. He rigged a viewing filter using a pair of 3-D glasses cut in half with the lenses rotated and positioned in front of each other.

Then the neighbor came outside with a welders mask, and the kids each got a look through that, too.
