Sep. 24th, 2012 01:47 pmI suppose it's a good thing I write things down in my livejournal, because sometimes my memories get a little wibbly wobbly. I kept thinking our older batch of chickens is nearing five years old. I was mistaken. That was this pair here, and again here. Those two are both already dead.
The older batch aren't even three yet. The first and second posts about them.
Instead of being three years older than the younger batch, they are only about 10 or 11 months older. I don't usually get chicks in January. Maybe that's why I kept remembering wrong. Or it was the large gap between batches, since we were waiting so long for our new house to close. Or the really small gap between batches - I have no idea why I went and bought six new chicks when our youngest weren't even a year yet (though I expect it had something to do with going overboard after finally getting a property with over an acre of land after spending nearly a decade in town). Or it's just time and age - all my life details are running together.
