Ducks out and about.
Jan. 19th, 2015 03:13 pmWhen I let the three older ducks out into the main yard to do bug patrol (and eat whatever else they like to out amongst the dead grass and dried leaves), the five younger ducks paced the fence line yelling out for their missing companions.
I took that as an indicator that they had bonded with the older birds, and went about the task of shooing them through the gate to join their fellows.

Once they made it through the gate, the babies made a bee line for the older ducks.
It now appears (to a casual observer) that I have a flock of eight ducks, though, in reality, the older ducks couldn't care less if the babies are there or not.
(This entire post was written on my new phone.)
