Karate Updates
Feb. 7th, 2015 11:35 amC passed his junior black belt test last month, thus ending his time in his first Sensei's class. He started up with his new Sensei on Tuesday. H and I started up with the same Sensei (he was also the one we had for about 4 months at a different location last year) in the 13+ class right after C's.
C was very happy to get his black belt, but at first felt sad since he wouldn't have a class to wear it in. As it turns out, his new Sensei lets new students wear their highest belt from a previous karate (since, as he says, they earned it) until they earn a belt in his class. C was over the moon with this pronouncement.
I am pleased to be doing karate again, but am finding I am sore in muscles I forgot I had.
Today S has a tournament. She will be competing in all 4 areas - forms, weapons, sparring, and sword. She is in the highest level (red, brown, black) belt grouping now, so starts at 1pm.
