Disney and D&D

A couple of nights ago H and S were playing a "what D&D character class would each Disney princess be" game. It was fairly entertaining, and I was able to give helpful input (Anna is a Barbarian). C wandered in about halfway through, and while his comment about Rapunzel and Paladins was key in making us realize she is a disgraced Paladin, it became obvious that his familiarity with the less modern Disney Princesses was sorely lacking.

So yesterday the kids and I crowded onto the futon to watch The Little Mermaid and Cinderella.

C's favorite character in The Little Mermaid was the dog (I had to reassure him the dog would be fine) and a couple of times he said, "oh, that's where this song is from". Both girls agreed that, in that movie, Disney was dark.

Next time we'll likely get to Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.

Oh, by the way, for anyone keeping track, Ariel is a Bard, and Cinderella is a Druid.
