I am not a morning person
Jun. 29th, 2008 08:33 amC woke up this morning about 6:45am. After convincing him to let me rest another 15 minutes we got up at 7am. I know this is a typical scenario for many parents, some start even earlier. For me, however, this was way too early. We are practically nocturnal in this house; we've even come up with our own phrase to distinguish between morning and late enough in the morning to bother getting up.
wake up morning
7am is not wake up morning time.
I knew someone in college who felt ill if he stayed in bed past 7:30am in the morning.
I would need an IV of coffee to make it through my day if I had to get out of bed before 9am most days.
Thank goodness I was blessed with three night owls and this morning is an anomaly in our daily lives

Date: 2008-06-30 06:48 am (UTC)C only took a 20 minute nap today, and didn't fall asleep for the night till 10:30pm. While it was nice to enjoy the cooler air in the morning, it isn't worth my zombie state the rest of the day.

Date: 2008-06-30 03:44 pm (UTC)Kaia takes a nap maybe once a week. I miss naps, but it is kind of nice to have her go to bed a little earlier in the evening so David and I can have that couple time. Also, I've found that a one-hour nap pushes back her bedtime about 2 hours, with no effect on wake-up time.
David was looking at the weather page for Phoenix yesterday - 109 at 7:30 at night!?!?! I hope the air is breathable down there. It's been coolish here, but so smoky we've had to keep the AC on and the house closed up.
