So this morning I see H, all bright eyed and bushy tailed, before I would normally wake her up.
My first response, "Good morning, H, you're up."
After a second for me to process this further, "Wait, did you even go to bed yet?" (yeah, no, she hadn't)
And today I saw on facebook a cute little picture of my niece filling out a worksheet during her first week of homeschooling.
Now's about the time to remind myself how unhelpful comparisons are.
Wonder how well that's going to work out.

I'm not a big fan of the Pledge as it currently stands, for several reasons, but I understand why many people feel it is important.
